Administrators at good videogame development schools want to higher industry experts to give you the best education. As a result, they have to drag them away from developing games and into teaching. This requires a lot of money, and combined with their advertising budget and all the other expenditures it can make videogame design college expensive. You have to pay for it somehow.

Student Loans - Some sort of student loan will be required for all but the brightest, or wealthiest, students. There are a number of options to look at. Each has it's own positives and negatives. For example, government loans have lower interest rates and better terms, but you can borrow more from private lenders.
